We will spend the night at a cozy lodge in Phakding.

Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

Our second day of trekking begins with a mesmerizing walk through lush forests and traditional Sherpa villages. Along the way, we will cross thrilling suspension bridges adorned with colorful prayer flags, over the majestic Dudh Koshi River. The journey rewards us with breathtaking mountain vistas, including the magnificent Thamserku, Kongde Peak, Khumjung Peak, and many more verdant hills. As we enter Sagarmatha National Park, the trail steepens, offering awe-inspiring views. Finally, we reach Namche Bazaar, known as the Gateway to Everest. This bustling village houses numerous quality amenities, including restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, and even a bakery. Namche Bazaar is one of the largest villages along the entire Everest trail.

Day 4: Acclimatization – Namche Bazaar

To ensure a smooth transition to higher altitudes, we will dedicate this day to acclimatization in Namche Bazaar. It allows our bodies to adapt to the thinning air. You can take a short trek to a museum celebrating Sherpa traditions, providing insights into their rich cultural heritage. Another option is hiking up to Syangboche Airport, where you can witness the majestic Himalayas during the captivating sunrise and sunset, gazing at the panoramic Khumbu peaks.

Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860 meters) – 5 hours

Continuing our trek, we follow the rushing glacial waters of the Dudh Koshi River, treating ourselves to magnificent mountain views. As we ascend to an altitude of 3860 meters, we arrive at Tengboche, home to a local monastery. Inside the monastery, you’ll be captivated by the incredibly ornate wall hangings, a remarkable 20-foot Buddha sculpture, and the fascinating musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. Depending on the day’s trek, we may have the opportunity to observe a prayer ceremony in the evening or morning.

Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche (4243m)

Today promises an exciting trek to Dingboche, taking us through charming villages such as Pangboche, Somare, and Dingboche. The trail leads us through rhododendron forests and across the enchanting Imja Khola bridge adorned with Mani stones inscribed with sacred Tibetan Buddhist prayers. Our destination for the day is Pangboche, where we can immerse ourselves in the serene beauty of the surroundings.

Day 7: Acclimatization in Dingboche

As we reach an altitude of approximately 4300 meters, it’s time for another essential acclimatization day in Dingboche. You have the option to hike to the sister village of Pheriche or explore Nagarjuna Hill or Chukkhung Valley. For a more challenging adventure, you can embark on an 8-hour hike to the Ama Dablam Base Camp. Dingboche, a popular stop for trekkers and climbers heading to Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, or Imja Tse, offers captivating landscapes and fields protected by stone walls, shielding barley and potatoes from the cold wind.

Day 8: Dingboche to Lobuche (4910 meters) – 5 hours

Today, we embark on a scenic Himalayan journey, driving north for approximately 50 minutes until we reach the sacred mani-prayer Stupa. Along the way, we revel in stunning views of Mt. Tawache, Ama Dablam, Pokalde, Kongma-Tse, and the grand wall of Nuptse. After a two-hour stroll, we connect with the trail from Pheriche at Dugla (4595m). Continuing our ascent, we cross the terminal bridge of the Khumbu Glacier and ascend for about an hour to a lofty hilltop. Here, we are treated to captivating views of Mt. Pumori and other majestic peaks to the west of Everest. On this route, we encounter shrines honoring those who lost their lives in the Himalayas, including Scott Fischer and Rob Hall, who tragically perished in the 1996 Everest disaster. Following the shrines, a 30-minute walk leads us to the trail junction where we choose between Dzongla and Lobuche. From the junction, it takes no more than 30 minutes to reach Lobuche.

Day 9: Trek to Gorakshep, Everest Base Camp (5364m), and back to Gorakshep

Once in Gorakshep, we savor a well-deserved lunch before heading towards Everest Base Camp. The trail involves several ups and downs on a dry gravel path. After approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, we arrive at the base camp, marked by a significant pile of rocks, prayer flags, and a sense of accomplishment. Take the time to celebrate your achievement before returning to Gorakshep to rest.

Day 10: Gorakshep to Kalapathar and back to Pheriche

On this day, we start our hike early at 6 AM to reach Kala Patthar, the highest point of the trail at an impressive elevation of 5555 meters. The view from Kala Patthar allows you to appreciate Everest Base Camp and the Khumbu Glacier in all their glory.
