Nepal has diverse seasonal variations. There are total six seasons; spring, summer, rainy, autumn, pre-winter and winter. To understand in a simple way, we can redefine these as Winter, Pre-Monsoon, Monsoon and Post-Monsoon.
- Winter (December, January, February): Snowfall and risks in high altitudes, a good season for trekking in lower elevation
- Pre-Monsoon (March, April, May, Mid-June): Best for trekking and mountain climbing, excellent mountain views and colorful hills because of blossoming wild flowers
- Monsoon (Mid-June, August, Mid-September): Rainy season, unfavorable for trekking
- Post-Monsoon (Mid-September, October, November): Best trekking season, moderate temperature, clear sky
